Nestling in a setting of pine forests and occupying in part the location occupied in its day by the Ermita de Nuestra Señora de las Salinas (Chapel of Our Lady of las Salinas).
The name of “Las Salinas” comes from where it is located, which has enjoyed water containing salty properties since medieval times.
After a long period in disuse, in the c.XIX the senator Manuel Ortiz de Pinedo bought the land, thereby taking advantage of the healing effects of said waters.
Waters that contain chloride-sodium-sulphur and bromide-iodide, qualified as unique in Spain.
